Post-Production : Frequently Asked Questions

What edit systems do you use?
AMP has five in-house Final Cut Pro edit systems, all connected via fiber channel to a central video server. We also provide editing in the field via Mac Book Pro with Final Cut Pro installed.

On what formats can you deliver material?
Tape formats: DVCPro HD, BEtaSP, DVCam, HDV, DVCpro 50, miniDV. Others available on request.
We can also deliver DVDs with or without menus, data DVDs or CDs, BluRay discs.

And of course, we can encode your show into a wide variety of formats, QuickTime, Windows Media, Flash, AVI, etc.
We can host or stream, working seamlessly with a variety of third party providers, providing a one stop shop for you.

What is the big deal with tapeless workflow?
Tapeless workflow provides several advantages:

In the field, more reliable recording. The cameras have no moving parts in the recording mechanism. We’ve had virtually no downtime with our P2 based cameras in the field.

Capture time to post is dramatically reduced. 50 to 75% reductions in ingestion times are common compared to capture from tape formates. When you’re in a hurry to get your message out, as our out of town clients often are, tapeless workflow can be a lifesaver.

Archiving and backup are simplified. All-digital files, straight from the start means backing up and archiving are “drag and drop.” We can send you home with your complete files all on one portable external hard drive. We have the drives on hand, ready to load with your finished show, your project file and all your camera footage. If you want to re-edit your show back at your shop, just plug in and there it all is.
